The Cantabile Chapter of the Spokane Symphony Associates is presenting a concert with the renowned Spokane Symphony Chorale

on Sunday, April 2nd at 4 PM at Saint John’s Cathedral.

The program will include what many have called a “human requiem”, the majestic German Requiem by Johannes Brahms.

The 90+ voice chorale is directed by Kristina Ploeger, Associate Professor of Music at Eastern Washington University.

The Chorale will be performing the four hand piano version of the work with Carolyn Jess and David Brewster.  The four hand piano version of Brahms’ Requiem was premiered in London on July 18, 1871 and was written by the composer himself as a fully realized version of the work – not a piano reduction.  The two pianists provide a transparency that is beautifully different than the full orchestral version.

The music will showcase the range and versatility of this all-volunteer ninety-member chorus.

Tickets are $15 per person or $35 for families (two adults and any three children).

For advance tickets and information, contact the Spokane Symphony Box Office at 509-624-1200 or visit www.spokanesymphonyassoc.org

Tickets are also available at the door or from any Chorale member.  All proceeds go to support the Spokane Symphony.
