In 2007, Susan Kennedy of the Ferden Chapter came up with the idea of having a member donation sale. The success has led to a large annual event.
The sale occurs the first week in June. For an entire year, quality donated items are gathered and stored for the sale. Included are fine china, art, jewelry, home décor, and furniture. Beginning on a Thursday evening, 5 –7 p.m. is the ‘First Choice Sale.’ This first look and ability to purchase, is open to the public, with the admission of $5.00.The next three days are free and hundreds of items go out the door and find new homes. Last year, SSA generated $124,000 in revenue in support of the Spokane Symphony.
This much-anticipated event is always looking for donations and volunteers.
There are opportunities before, during & after the event!
SSA accepts quality items year-round. To arrange to have items picked up or dropped off, please contact us.
Underwriting opportunities for the sale include:
- Donate or provide a location for our annual sale – contact Jeanette Brenner, 509-990-6418
- Underwrite one or more storage units
- Underwrite utility and facility expenses
- Underwrite publicity and media expenses
